Description
An introduction to Shakespeare’s play, suitable for Upper KS2 and KS3.
This is a mixed-media eight-week course, consisting of video guides and PDF activities.
Discover the story through tale-telling and extracts from the play. Get to know the characters and have fun exploring Shakespeare’s language too.
Topics include:
- Shakespeare’s characterisation and use of comedy
- Costume creation
- An extended creative island project
- Role play and hot seating
- Comic strip prompt
- Descriptive writing
- Comprehension skills
- Map making
- Discussion of the play’s themes
- Exploration of thematically linked poetry for the final two weeks of the course.
Each week begins with a short video (10-20 minutes long) which introduces the topics and story focus for the week. Students can then work through the activities on the PDF documents.
How to Access the Course
After purchase, you will receive files to download. The video lessons can be linked directly from the PDF files.
